Time Travel writing prompts

Time travel works best with one strict rule. Pick a prompt, agree on the rule in the first round, and watch your group try to break it.

  1. A widow is given one phone call to her past self and uses it to argue.
  2. Two scientists invent time travel on the same day, ten years apart.
  3. A historian travels back to witness the moon landing and finds it was not televised.
  4. A teenager's grandmother appears in her bedroom wearing a school uniform.
  5. Every Friday a man wakes up one day younger and his daughter is starting to notice.
  6. A pilot's transponder shows her flight took off last Tuesday.
  7. The time machine works. The destination is taken.
  8. A boy receives a postcard from himself, from the day he dies.
