Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 June 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
Storybored ("Storybored", "we", "us") is operated by William Francis, a sole trader. By creating an account or using Storybored, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Acceptance
By continuing to use the service you confirm you have read, understood and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using Storybored. You confirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction or have the authority to bind the organisation you represent.
3. The service
Storybored is a turn-based collaborative story writing game. Players take turns adding lines to a shared story, earn points and may unlock cosmetic perks (fonts, colours, AI-generated illustrations).
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse Storybored or use it to create, share or encourage harmful content. In particular, you must not:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose, fraud or spam;
- upload or generate content that infringes intellectual property rights or third-party privacy;
- attempt to interfere with security, probe, scrape or introduce malware;
- scrape, overload, reverse engineer, bypass limits or attempt to access accounts, games or data that do not belong to you;
- create, request or share content involving sexual exploitation, abuse of minors, non-consensual intimate material, graphic violence, terrorism, self-harm instructions, hate speech, harassment or threats;
- use the AI illustration feature to impersonate real individuals, create deceptive deepfakes, generate malware or evade safety filters;
- use Storybored to provide regulated professional advice, including medical, legal, financial or investment advice.
We may remove content, refuse AI generation requests, limit features or suspend accounts where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the story lines you write. You grant Storybored a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display and process your content solely to operate the service for you and your co-writers.
6. AI-generated illustrations
Illustrations are generated by third-party AI models based on prompts derived from your story. You are responsible for the prompts you submit and for how you use the resulting images. AI outputs may be inaccurate, unexpected or unsuitable; you should review them before sharing or reusing them. We may refuse, filter or remove outputs that breach these terms and may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.
You must only submit story content and prompts that you have the right to use. If you believe content on Storybored infringes your rights, contact us at hello@storybored.onlineand we will review it. Repeated infringement may result in account suspension or termination.
7. Intellectual property
Storybored, including its software, design, branding and documentation, is owned by William Francis and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. You may not reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service.
8. Payments & subscriptions
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See also our Refund Policy.
9. Service level
We work hard to keep Storybored running, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times. Features may change over time.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, present a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly violate our acceptable use rules. You may stop using the service at any time by closing your account.
11. Warranties & liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Storybored is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Our aggregate liability to you is capped at the fees you have paid us in the previous twelve months. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential or special damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (such as for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence).
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
