Heist writing prompts

Heists are jigsaws. Pick a prompt, draft your crew in the first round, and let the next writer reveal who is already lying about which job this really is.

  2. Three thieves all turn up to steal the same painting on the same night.
  3. The crew realises the vault they are robbing is empty and was emptied by them years ago.
  4. The plan is perfect. The driver has a six-month-old baby.
  5. A museum guard is recruited as the inside man and then promoted.
  6. The mark is also a thief, and is also planning a heist tonight.
  7. A cybercrime crew realises they have been outsourced to rob their own bank.
